A tad serious...but still controversial

A tad serious...but still controversial

When I was on my home from my bachelorette party, one of the already married girls (with kids) mentioned that her husband buys her 'stuff' to smoke once in awhile, so I asked 'You still smoke??' and she said 'everyone does...'

Honestly....am I REALLY THAT straight-laced that I don't smoke (now or ever really did??)

Do people this far out of high school/college still smoke?? (DH one sister and her husband do too and she's 35)

I know 26-27 year olds that still do. I don't know anyone with kids who does, though. That could be even more disturbing.

I don't smoke either (although I did in HS), but from what I understand, yes, it is pretty common in people in the 30's and 40's. I know alot of people in my age group who smoke on occasion. I'm not talking about people who get wrecked, but a few hits on the weekend.

I know plenty of people that still smoke that are between age 20 and 40! And yes some of them with kids.
I don't and either does my FH.

I don't either. I probably have done it like five times in my whole life. FH used to do it all the time before I knew him I think, but he can't since he gets drug tested. I'm glad because I really don't think I'd want to be with someone who does it so much.

I know LOTS of people who still do...and many are over 40!! Then again, I live in the woods and everyone and their mother's can grow it in their backyards. (Not saying I do...I'm a clean mama!)

FH and i were just joking around about how we could use some to deal with all this stress... but we don't do it.

I used to A LOT... but that was my ex's fault.

i don't think any of our friends do it.

Let's just put it this way, I know many people who are still living the hippie days and they are all 30-80.

Ha! Me too. Most of the older smokers I know are really secretive about it. I'm glad to say that they're very careful about it too -- they stay at home, they don't drive anywhere, they don't smoke with younger people around, etc.

I know a lot of people that smoke and are 30+. The DH never has and I used to when I was younger, but I haven't in years.

Yes as a matter of fact i know someone with a 16 year old who does how is she sppose to tell him with a straight face'SAY NO TO DRUGS' when she does it. I mean not in front of him but still he has to know the smell by now.

My 2 sister-in-laws and 2 of DH's friends were 'smoking' at my wedding. When the 2 sisters came back in to have a dance with DH, they were laughing so much their pictures came out bad. The sisters are 40 and 43 and the friends are about 33 or 34. I don't know how much or often my SIL's smoke but I know that the friends do quite often.

Yep and since Im one who thinks that type of smoke shouldnt be spoken of in such a hush hush manner I see no problem in it whatsoever

That may be controversial but I don't care.

Crack, cocaine, alcohol .. so many other things out there I worry more about.

I know PLENTY who smoke since they all know my opinion.

One of Jim's coworkers (she) and her husband still do off and on.. but now their child 16 was caught with some. I look at Jim and said 'so what? I dont know why they're surprised.' These are nice upstanding family.

Is it really still that big of a DEAL??
I have a picture of a bus stop sign I saw in DC when I get home tonight I'll post it.

Until then lets just say
I've never seen an angry 'smoker' I've never seen a 'smoker' beat his wife or rape someone just cause and blame the 'smoke' for imparing them and not knowing what they are doing.

God Bless Freedom of Speech!

Do I?
nope.. there can be spot checks here at my office and frankly I have no time. What time I have I want to be aware of.

That's honest.

Jim used to a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. He's so cute. He hasnt done so since college! LOL

I haven't touched it since a few months before Jim & I started to date. Just a waste of time.

Xel....

I agree with freedom of speech....I just have a personal history with an ex who did it....

and he did hit me...several times...and moved on to moer intense drugs....

but I don't mind that people do it....I just felt like a wierdo cuz I never really did and don't now.

I second that!!!
and when they say its a gateway drug... BS!!! i NEVER did or wanted to do anything more than that! and i did A LOT of it for awhile. it all depends on the person... its not the drug!
