we're having a noon wedding too and fh would like to wear a suit and i am all for that...daytime weddings are more relaxed in those rules and let her know that.

Comprise? A Morning suit? Or show her the book where it says that morning weddings don't need tuxes. Then tell her it's none of her business, in the end she can't do anything about it, it's your FI's decision. Done.

This was taken from wedding channel.
Hope it helps!

While I prefer a double-breasted tuxedo, I'm concerned that it may look too dressy for our simple Sunday morning wedding. Am I correct?

Traditionally, tuxedos are not worn before 4:00 pm. However, today's rules of etiquette only apply when you decide to apply them. It's your choice. Go for traditional or your own interpretation of what works for your special day

we have a noon wedding and FH is wearing a tux jacket and shirt but with a vest and tie. (silver)

I hate bowties and so does he. Of course FMIL was like 'awww why don't you wear a bow tie? they look so nice' CUZ WE SAID SO!! hehe

We are having an evening/outdoor wedding and my FH is wearing a black suit. I think that I would tell your mother that he really has his heart set on wearing a suit and remind her that it is his day also.

i think my mom's concern is that it won't be fancy enough despite the fact that we want a more relaxed setting she seems to think that it has to be more traditional. she doesn't think everyone will match if they wear different black suits..

Well, they chould all rent the same suit if you want them to match. Our BM and GM are all picking out their own attire.

i'm not sure i care if they match..how much different can a black suit look right? and i think fh's thing is that he doesn't want his brothers spending money so they already have black suits..

We are getting married during the day and my FH is wearing a formal black suit with a varigated black on black stripe to it. My Mom had the same concerns but she is okay with it now.

i actually showed her an article from weddings in style and it said that a suit is good for a morning wedding..i think she just needed to read that it was okay..lol i'm sure she'd still prefer a tux but....
