i believe that God speaks to us in His own special ways sometimes. . . sometimes its something subtle like a random butterfly and sometimes its a smack upside the head like i got today
I was fighting with FH about the stupid RD, we have been fighting every single day.
Today at work I was on the phones and a man called up to ask a question about his Medicare. . . all of a sudden he starts sobbing into the phone - he lost his wife of 53 years a few months ago
He asked me if I was married and I told him that I would be soon and he told me to appreciate every single minute with my husband bc we never know how much longer we have in this life. He was telling me to always love him and take care of him, bc he needed me to take care of him even if he didnt know how to tell me that
i know it sounds strange but it was like this man actually talking to ME and knew ME and had this message for me at that very moment. Just as I was getting off the phone with him, my cell went off and it was FH - i told him I loved him 43x and then tonight I told him all about it
When the man hung up he said that I was his blessing and he was so thankful that he reached me and I was able to help him. . . at that point I was crying and trying to hide it but i wish i could have told him that he was MY blessing
i wanted to share this with you girls bc i thought it was so special and we can all benefit from listening to this guy!!!

Re: a wake up call today
wow..what a great story. You are very lucky that that you were able to get that meaning from him and not just blow him off as an annoying phone call. You must be very special.
FYI: Yes, I know how extremely psycho that sounds but I hope you get what I am saying.

i totally understand what you are saying
i JUST started on the phones at my job , its a 1 800 number and people call that need help with their social security. . . every single call i REALLY try to remember that they are humans too and not just a case number you know? so i REALLY appreciate your comment

that was a great story tilde. i also believe god speaks to us in his own ways and has people sometimes even total strangers remind us of the blessings we have and take for granted.

Re: a wake up call today
Thanks so much for sharing!! What a really special phone call!!! Stories like that really inspire me!
I believe that God is always sending us messages but we don't always catch on.
The other nite I was watching a bare essentials show on QVC and the first caller said she was buying the set for her grand-daughter because she loves the line ..i've been thinking of my grandparents more than often because of the holidays (they all died :( ) but all of a sudden I thought 'i wish i had a grandmother to buy me makeup'..it was just a stupid fleeting thought, and then the next caller that called in was named Dotti, and the host actually said, what a cute/fun name, we should name our next color after you...my grandmothers name was Dorothy but everyone knew her as Dotti It made my wholeeee NITE .. in my heart I feel it was my grandmother saying Merry Christmas to me ...
