A WASP IN MY SHOWER

A WASP IN MY SHOWER

So I went to shut the shower door earlier and almost put my hand on a giant black wasp. Where did a wasp come from in Dec. I am completely freaked. Fh got rid of it for me but it took us all day to find him. When we did he was in the bottom of my shower. Imagine I didn't know and got in. OUCH!

Yuck! That is so weird and would totally freak me out, esp. FH he is allergic to bee stings so he is terrified lol. A yellow jacket was in our bathroom once when I was int he shower and I was stuck in there and didn't know what to do lol FH finally manned up and shoo'ed it out!!

So this time of year those darn things are looking for a warm place to nest for the winter. I had one in the basement the other night and I TOTALLY FREAKED, thankfully my daddy killed it!!! :)

I am highly allergic to the black ones too, I had to have a shot when I got stung in college. It was a bit frightening.

OMG It's December!!!!

Here in PA we have these stink bugs that are sort of indigenous to the area. They're mainly outdoor pests but they come inside to overwinter. EVERYONE gets them. It doesn't matter if you keep your windows and doors shut; they find ways in. It doesn't matter if your house is clean or dirty; they just need a place to stay. You can find them anywhere - hanging out on a wall, in your bath towel, in your sock drawer. Anyway, I have the Keurig one cup coffee machine and FH opened it up to put more water into it. A STINKBUG WAS SITTING IN THE CORNER OF THE WATER BIN!!!! I'm never drinking coffee again. Here's what they look like:

Yuck, I went to college in PA. So glad I never encountered one of those things. Why are they called stinkbugs, do they smell?

They are such harmless bugs, but the problem is they're so scary looking! And when they feel threatened, they let off a scent. It really isn't as bad as it sounds - sort of a vinagry scent, sometimes it smells sweet. That stink bug incident was last month. Once this cold weather comes around, they're gone. If we have a January thaw, they'll be back.

Be careful, they may have a nest somewhere in your house. I would walk around and cork all holes. We had this problem upstate in our cabin. They can live in your house because of theheat...
