a way to say NO KIDS PLEASE

a way to say NO KIDS PLEASE

i just received a STD for my cousins wedding. she sent out several things in her envelope including a magnet, a postcard to be returned indicating the intention to stay at the hotel or not, and a little card with the wedding info and poem. in the card she stated 'we hope this serves you with enough time to plan for supervision for your children so you may enjoy a night of grown up fun.'
what do you think of this? it didn't bother me since i dont have kids, but do you think its tacky or a good way to avoid the whole kids issue?

Wow!! That sounds like a good idea. It lets people know well in advance they need to get a sitter!!!

Personally, If I got an invitation that did not have my children's names on it, or it didn't say 'and Family'....I would NOT bring my children.

BUT THERE ARE a lot of people who would. I don't think they should, but it happens......so, I think the poem is fine, because there are those people who think it is ok to bring their kids along, even if not invited.

I think that was a fun and polite way to ask people to leave their children home. I am stressing about how to tell people this without them getting offended. That was a great idea.

I think that's a great way to word it.
Personally I'm not excluding children from my wedding.. I really really would love to see a little girl twirl with her dad like I used to.

Then again... I have around 50 empty seats..

I think it is a good idea but someone will still respond with a child. There's always one (or more).

I think it is a fabulous idea I put on the reception card 'adult reception'

i agree, little kids make up some very special memories and sights at a wedding. i would love to have all my little cousins but it would be adding another 30+ people to our small reception site so i dont think we'll be able to do it.

just thought i'd put this idea out there since its been an issue for some people with guests adding kids to the reply.

I too would love to have all my little cousins there, but as was said before that adds about 25-30 extra seats, and we just can't do that. I've been struggling with this one because I do want them there but understand that it's just not going to be possible. I am going to use a creative idea like this to tell people so hopefully they won't be so offended.

I too would never even think to bring kids if they were not on the invitation, but as was said a lot of people do not follow that rule.

I think the way it is worded is great. I like that it is on an STD. It really gives people plenty of notice that they will need a sitter if they are going to attend.
