So I took my 4yo nephew to the Museum of Natural History this afternoon and when we went to see the big giant whale on the first floor, it was block off. They were setting up for a wedding!!! How cool is that??? I had no idea you could have a wedding there, it looked amazing. I am so jealous!!!

Yea, I thought so too. We thought about possibly going there just to find out how much it would cost!

I can only imagine the price! Because you have to rent EVERYTHING I am sure then there is probably a huge site fee!

Re: A wedding at the Museum!!
Baltimore doesn't really have wedding halls like they have up here, so museums are very popular. They are gorgeous, but expensive and there are lots of rules. Some don't allow red wine, or music has to be at a certain decibel. But the pics are amazing.

Re: A wedding at the Museum!!
Sorry to crash but my cousin was married this summer in an amazing museum in Washington DC. They had to rent the space, order the food, hire servers, etc and bring EVERYTHING in. The site fee alone was $25,000. The museum was beautiful but even with around 400 people, the space was just too big so it felt a little bit cold.

Re: A wedding at the Museum!!
I worked that wedding. It was beautiful. Flowers were orchids, roses and hydrangea, all in white. They had a great band as well. The cocktail hour was in the Rotunda with the dinosaur skeletons. They had an asian station, sushi, sliders, a latin station and a raw bar.
It is very expensive to rent that room, people were saying that it cost $100,000 just to rent, and my captain said that the catering budget alone was $300,000.
