A Yankee Poem

My friend sent this to me today....I thought it was cute...and fitting!

It's amazing that it has come to this,
As October is usually playoff bliss.
But I'm overcome with anxiety and fear,
That the end of the season is coming near.
So what else would you expect from me,
As I bust a rhyme.....in a one, two, three.....

Hit it.....
Yankees-RedSox once again,
We all expected it way back when,
The two super powers of the america league,
Another series full of excitement and intrigue
It all looked perfect in games one through three,
Give me a 1918 and a Who's your Daddy!
Thinking World Series.... Houston or St Louie
Nobody can beat us.....we got MATSUI!
Most of us assumed win number four,
Maybe not a sweep, but victory for sure.
Who are these idiots wearing sox that are red,
They look like roadies for the Grateful Dead.
I expect Game 7 to be another dog fight,
We'll need all hands on deck for the game tonight.
Not just the coaches and players you see
The fans, the ghosts and a little history.
You see no team has ever come back from 3 games down,
And it better not happen tonight, not here in our town.
So come 8pm tonight no matter where you are,
Your couch, your bed or in a bar.....
Make sure you're in front of any TV
And ignore Joe, Tim and Al and their poor commentary...
Close your eyes, say a prayer or just stand up and cheer,
I'll be damned if I hear a red sox fan say this is our year...
For tonight is Yankee baseball and you can expect magic and ghosts
Down with the Red Sox and up with victory toasts!
I guess I'm just desperate for one more win,
So I send you this rhyme for luck and a grin....
Only one thing left to say before I go....
Lets go Yankees and F Pedro!
