about the barefoot at the wedding post!!!

I was thinking about giving out flip flops for the people that want to take off their shoes.. HEy, it's better then bare feet.. and let's face it.. whether we lik it or not, some people are going to take off their shoes... So. .I found this web-site, and the flip flops are only $1.75 per pair, they come in boxes of 36.. Anway, my question is

here is the link if anyone wants it:

I think it is a very thoughtful idea and you should definitely do it! I think your guests will totally appreciate it!
Question - how would you let the guests know the flip flops are there for them?

I could either just leave a basket as they walk in or have the dj announce that they are available... something like that

I was planning on doing this..You can put them in a basket or 2 or 3 or have waiters hand them out or put them by the DJ booth or whatever. Put a sign on the basket that says 'to help you keep dancing the night away' and on each pair put a tag that says 'Please take one pair'

I went to one of my Cheerleaders that i coach sweet 16's and it was so cool because on both sides of the dancefloor they had this box of socks, it was so cool everyone was all dressed up and wearing socks and dancing all night!!! I think flip flops are another great idea, socks could be cheaper maybe.
Great Idea

Re: about the barefoot at the wedding post!!!

THis was one of the first things I bought for my wedding last year. I bought a case of socks!
In bahtmiztvah's past I remember always getting socks in our gift bags to dance with and knew I wanted to do that for my wedding.

The only question about flip flops, is don't you still see the feet and how do you wear them with stockings?

Re: about the barefoot at the wedding post!!!

I bought a case of half men's socks and half women's all in black. I think there is about 140 pairs? I don't have the website anymore, but it was a YVES wholesaler website. hmm... I can't find it!

Anyway, I don't think its necessary to get both men and womens' because when I got the box, I honest to god can't tell the difference. I have no idea which is which! But the reciept says its right. THe labels are different, but they are the same size? ANYWAY< as I babble on< they were pretty cheap I think around 50 - 60 cents a pair maybe even less. I got both mens and women because I thought it would be fun if everyone could join in. I know my FI would be jealous if I was encouraged to take off my shoes at a wedding and he wasn't
