...about the PILL

What are the side effects that you get when you stop taking the pill. I just finished a month and I'm supposed to be taking the start of my next pack tonight. What if I don't? We are getting married in two months and we are not having sex until we get married....and I don't want to pay for something I don't need? Can I start and stop..what if I just stop....what are the effects?

i think also that if you stop, then start up again, when you start taking them again they aren't immediately effective... your best bet is to call your doctor and ask!!

Ugh...this is a pain in my a**. I'm cranky enought at this point in my life with all the stress...on top of that...we JUST started this whole 'not having sex until the wedding' thing and I will be wanting to have a lot of sex because of that, as it...let alone the pills side affect.

Just keep in mind that you are the most fertile when you are coming off the pill. I know you aren't having sex for 2 months, but just be careful on your HM

remember that the pill is not effective the first month you take it when you first start. I would stay on just because it might screw up your period and stuff too.

This is JMO, but I would not stop my pill two months before my wedding...your hormones can change which can cause changes in your mood, skin, period, and I am sure a whole bunch of other things I am not aware of. I say such oup the money and stay on it...especially if you plan on going back on it after the wedding...

I WOULD NOT SREW UP YOUR PERIOD CYCLE. IT IS ON A GOOD MONTHLY CYCLE AND STOPPING COULD CASUE IT TO COME MORE.

KEEP ON TAKING IT IN MY OPINION THAT WAY YOUR HORMONES WILL NOT BE OUT OF WACK EITHER

THAT and every unexpected pregnancy I have known about has followed the following:

'i had to go off of depo. because of...and now i'm pregnant.'

'i ran out of pills and didn't get to the dr. in time and now i'm pregnant'

'i missed one pill and now i'm pregnant'

'i took antibiotics for that ear infection, now i'm pregnant' (antibiotics pretty much eliminate the pill)

and the most common quick to conceive stories are:

'i stopped taking the pill and was pregnant within the first month'

I stopped the pills in April....I got my 'friend' 6 days later (normal time). May and June also got it normal (28-29 days cycle) July I got it later but still normal, now waiting for my visit this month.

So....my cycle was normal, length of visit was normal.....I had no side effects....and I was on the pill for 10 1/2 years!!!!!

yeah you have to go a month before it will be effective again. Also the longer you take it, the more effective they are (especially after 1-2 years of taking it). When I went off, the only side effect I had was the period wasn't as on schedule as when I was on the pill (on the pill I got it every 25 days, off the pill it was like every 38 days!)

I stopped taking the pill in June. Got my period as usual in July. We'll see what happens in August. I'm not cranky or moody. The only difference I've noticed is cramps and it lasted 1 day longer than usual. Each person is going to be different. My MOH stopped and she experienced no changes at all. Do whatever feels best for you.
