Acapella Groups
My parents just hired an acapella group to sing for 45 minutes of our cocktail hour...(my cocktail hour is actually an hour and a half).I've never heard an acapella Group before, but my parents say that they are awesome. Does anyone know anything about this?

Re: Acapella Groups
I used to be in chorus and choirs when I was in junior high and high school... I've sung a cappella in a group of other men and women singing different harmonies, and it sounds AWESOME! If your group will be singing nice slow romantic types of songs I think it will be great. But Barbershop Quartets are also a cappella... they tend to sing faster, more upbeat songs... will your group allow you to pick the songs you want them to sing?

My Mom said it's like 50's and 60's music.

Re: Acapella Groups
Who is the group? I had an Acapella Group called 'Somewhere In Time' performe at my cocktail hour. It was a big hit. They sing a lot of 50/60s doo wop songs. They strolled around during the cocktail hour and took requests. My dad even sang with them for his favorite song 'Duke Of Earl'We did our actual first dance to them singing 'When We Get Married' at the cocktail hour.
It was a great special touch at my wedding.
If you have any questions, feel free to FM me.

Re: Acapella Groups
One of my friends sings in a acapella group and they actually make the background music with different sounds. Its really cool and I really enjoy listening to her group.I think it is a great, original idea and people will definitley take notice!

Re: Acapella Groups
i was in an a cappella group in college. i had so much fun singing. we actually just had a big reunion in central park.acapella is without any instruments. you can sing a variety of songs and use your voice to mimic any type of instrument or beat. it is really cool. it think your guests will enjoy it!
