I just started to feel that tingle of a cold sore coming on and I'm SO upset! FH is a GM in a wedding this weekend and we're going to three wedding-related weekend events! I don't want to be walking around with this monstrous cold sore! I hate the way they look and feel! Does anyone else struggle with them?
Typically I use Abreva for them and I just went on their website. They have an 'Abreva reminder' for which you tell them the date of an upcoming event and it'll send a reminder and a coupon for Abreva 2 weeks before, just in case! I just set up a reminder for my wedding date!

I noticed it there in bulk but I only get 2 to 3 cold sores a year and I've NEVER finished a tube of it In fact, I wind up losing a tube of it after each cold sore and buying another one at the next occurrence!

I know exacly how you feel. A week right before one of my best friend's wedding I got a huge painful cold sore and I was a bridesmaid. I used Abreva and zovorax(prescribed by my doc) and it never healed before the wedding. There is nothing you can really do to to heal it faster, you just have to hope it heals by itslef. Is it swollen?

I know, I wish there were a cure for it but we're not lucky enough for that yet! It's not swolen yet. Right now it's a small bump and no one can even tell. But I've been getting them my whole life from as far back as I can remember so I'm getting really good at spotting/feeling them at the very start!

ohh oki, you'll be fine. I'm sure some lipstick will cover it. When i had one it was swallen and almost in the middle of my upper lip. You can see it from a mile away. Maybe one day there will be a cure

Someone posted about this a few weeks ago. I dont remember who.
I think stress has alot to do with them coming out (for lack of better words) I've been getting them since I was a kid and they are the worst.
Good call with the abreva reminder. I swear it would be my luck that I have one on my wedding day.

I was getting them badly. I have a prescription ointment and I take valtrex when I feel one coming. That has been working pretty well.

I wish there were something that really works. Currently, there are no cures for cold sores - only treatments to relieve the discomfort (and certain things have been proven to speed healing time). I wish there were a way to get rid of them completely!
