Hey Girls. Last year I had major breakouts on the bottom of my face. I had red marks and thought they would go away over time. Now I notice that I think I have some permanent scars... my skin looks bumpy and no longer smooth... anyone else have a similar problem? Any recommendations?

How much 'down time' do you need when getting a peel? Do you think it will help smooth everything out?

I am actually an esthetician. and peel would be your best bet. down time depends on which peel and how strong you want it to be. if you go to a spa and get a facial, they dont use more than 30 % so no downtime maybe a tiny bit red but goes away quick. if you go to a dermatologist he can use verrryyyyy strong peels and you will need downtime. Scars, darkspots and most imperfections on the face start from the first layer of skin and work themselves up. so basically a peel is a deep exfoliation that over time make your skin start from the beginning cause the peel each time does a layer and goes deeper.
