OK - here's the question.... How long do I have to wait after taking off a set of acrylic nails to put on a new set? I had them put on by a place that was supposed to be good, they started to peel up - I had them fixed by another place and now they look horrible - they are the forever french ones. I want to have them totally redone! Any one know anything about them? Thanks!

Re: Acrylic Nails
Usually, I wait at least two weeks before putting on a new set. If you live in Queens, I can recommend a good place.

Re: Acrylic Nails
I think i was born with them on. If I take off a set, I don't even wait. But, I have given up on ever have nice real nails, so I don't care much about the harm...

Re: Acrylic Nails
I had acryilic nails for 3 years...and I am just starting to take them off. I'm using a 'transition kit'....its taking forever and my nails underneath are so weak.

I had them filled and I did it at a different place and they filled them with a different color so it has a terrible line and you definately see the difference - maybe I can just cover it with nail polish - I just want them to look nice for the wedding and then I'm taking them off.

Re: Acrylic Nails
Where do you live??
I have a great place but it is a little expensive and in Merrick. If it is just to have them for the wedding it might be worth paying the $$. I went there for years and never had a problem. All american girls and very very clean. The permenat French was the best thing I ever did I never polished them or anything, they just buff them before you leave with a buffer and some oil and they shine as if they were painted. I couldnt wear polish more than a day without it all chipping.
Now I just can't wear nails, polish or even my ring where I work. Everyday I look at my hands and cant wait til the day when I can get those nails back
Fm me if you need more details.

The permanent frech are already growing out though - you can see a line of the nail underneath - is that supposed to happen? what do you do? I'm all the way out in Riverhead!

Re: Acrylic Nails
That will hgappen... usually if you put a soft sheer color, it will blend the line of your nail.
I don't know any places in Riverhead, but I know some in the Hamptons.....
I would wait 2 weeks, and use some kind of reconstructor/protein/strengthener on your nails during those 2 weeks.
