What experiences have you had with these companies? Good and bad. I have an appointment with both in the same day. I can't reschedule them until mid-Decemeber and I want to pick a photographer by then. What are your experienes? Thanks girls!

I didn't use either but I can only tell you what I have heard from friends who have used them. My cousin used Commack Wedding Center 7 years ago. Her pictures were nice but there was nothing special about them. (Again, this was 7 years ago). My friend used ADA last year. She had 'Big' John. He was really nice. The only problem she had was the studio kept getting her confused with someone else and they screwed up her package. I have heard some really negative things about ADA. I had an appointment with ADA, and the thing I didn't like was the woman I spoke to was very pushy. I was not crazy about the packages she offered me and she just assumed I was going to book on the spot. She was starting to write up a contract and I said to her that I had to discuss with my FH and she got annoyed.
I just got my proofs back and I used Daniel Krieger. The pictures are great!! I don't have his number on me but if you do a search on this site, I think I posted it before.

I got my e-pics and I loved them! I am sure they will do a great job with the wedding pics! They put a custom package together for me, and Peggy was very nice to me over the phone, through e-mails, and in person.
Everyone has good and bad experiences with vendors. Go to both, look at the books and get ideas of their work, then make the decision.i

A friend of mine had a not-so-good experience with ADA, but other than the one complaint I have heard all good things about them. I have also heard good things about the CWC for photography. My sister is using them. I met with them and the pictures were nice! FM Sunny, she used the CWC has proofs posted somewhere on here.

I know three brides on here, including myself who used CWC and were very happy. I can name numerous brides on the NW board who seemed unhappy with ADA had problems with not enough proofs, them missing special moments.. etc.
Commack was very good to me my orginal wedding date was set for july 2002 and had to be postponed a few weeks prior do to the USAF we then rescheduled with CWC in August02 for our September02 date and they were great! We moved right after our wedding to Pensacola and we are now in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rich was great about getting us our proofs within 3 weeks, getting out TY pictures done ASAP. We had our album and my parents album done with 6 months and most of the picking was done by me being out of state. We also did Video with them and were very happy. My husband is away this weekend and I can scan proofs if you would like.
For us, we were between CWC and Duet.
I also have a friend getting married 12-27-03 who is using CWC and the exact photographer we used if you would like to see them in action.

I sat with ADA and they are such a large firm that your wedding could get contracted out to someone you don't even know. I didn't like them all that much....too 'cookie cutter' for me...nothing that blew me away. They were very willing to move packaged items around to suit my needs though...which was nice.

When I went looking for photographers, I made 6 appts, the more you talked with different photographers, the more you learned. well, on of the 6 photographers I met with was ADA. I met with Big John. I feel he was very dishonest. He tried throwing in things for freee to get us to book with him, such as free sephia film. guess what, there is not such thing as sephia film, it is just regular film, but a different way of developing!!! We booked with Marco, he is fantastic and he loves his work.

I uesd ada had had a fine experience with them I really do like my photos - Although they dont compare to the higher end photographers like Imagine and Mark Kauffman- I wished I had the $$$ for them but they were simply not in my budget

I went to see ADA in Smithtown. There were 2 bugs/spiders and a big cob web in the corner. I don't know who I spoke with but he didn't have a lot of answers to my questions, he kept having to ask other people. They were on the low side of the price scale that I went to. I did some searches and it seemed people either loved or hated them. I didn't want to be one of the people that hated them so I decided to go with DUET. Their package matched my needs and budgets better.

I met with ADA and booked them - long story short I cancelled my contract with them. I have a few friends who used them and had a ton of problems.
Other friends used the CWC - I think Joe was the photographer and he did a nice job.
I say make appts. w/ Duet and Patken - both are fantastic and will customize a package for you.

Again as a CWC bride I recommend Eric, he was Sunny's Photographer as well. Also deal with only Rich there.. since Bob is sometimes hard to take.. lol
From being a member here I would recommend to anyone Patken (my friend just used them and loved them and I know other bides here have been very happy) Duet, Imagine (they seem great too but in my eyes did more photojournalism then traditional and I really didn't want alot of BW and wanted a even mix, but LIA does seem awesome and I love her THANK YOU's and CWC!
Then all have seemed to make all their brides very happy and had traditional shots along with some creative photojournlism types!

I looked at both and was not impressed at all - there pictures were too bland for my taste - too many predictable pictures, nothing interesting or artistic.

hey ladies well i haven't picked a photographer yet but my future sister-in-law got married about five years ago used CWC and the guy LEFT EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she didn't have any pics of her cake cutting or any candids! I don't know exactly what happened but they wound up getting screwed on their package and had to make their album out of their proofs. there was nothing special about the pictures. no imagination whatsoever. by the way, who's ADA?
