FH asks why...she doesn't give a reason!
clearly she needs to cut the umbilical cord and stop being jealous....she will never be happy with any girl FH brings home, bc she thinks FH is her husband and not her SON!
ugh, im so upset and hurt by this
like, why would you want to take such a harsh stance??? is it really necessary to decide that you will never have a relationship with me, without even trying?!

OMG, really??? I am so sorry. I don't know how she could say something like that. It's so hurtful to not only you, but your FH. She should be supporting him right now. She's only going to make him feel like he needs to choose, and he's obviously going to choose you.

it is very sad...
my heart breaks for my FH, it's not a very nice thing to do as a mother.
esp when there is no reason for it
I think it has to do with religion, FH's mother is a JW and I am not nor is FH.
and I think she is not happy with FH for not being a JW...and taking it out on me and us.
I hope in time, that things change and she comes around...but for now, it is what it is...and I have to come to terms with the fact that we will never be the brady brunch
fh and i will have to make our own cutie lil family!

FMIL and I had a falling out over religion, most specifically because she wanted us to get married in her church. She said really nasty things about me that were totally uncalled for so I know how you're feeling.
It was really sad like you said for FH because it pins him in the middle. It's hard to deal with because you never want issues within the family but at the end of the day it's not you, him and her it's you and him and she'll just have to get over it.

I'm sorry you're going through that. It's really hard for mothers to let go of their sons and the religion thing probably just adds more fuel to her fire. It's sad to say, but your family are the people in your home once you close your door at night. You and your FH will create your own family and she'll come around if she'd like to see her grandkids!
