Addressing in-laws

Addressing in-laws

Do you call your MIL by her first name or 'mrs so and so'? I never know what to say! I want to be personable and call her by her first name but I don't want to disrespect...thoughts?

I used to, when we were first dating, out of respect. But after a few times calling her Mrs. _, she asked me to use her first name. My FH still addresses my parents as Mr. and Mrs. __. I think my mom likes it, lol. FH said after we get married, it's going to be odd calling them another name.

Ive known my FIL's forever. I thihk they introduced themselves with their 1st names. Anyway the family is really casual and I refer to everyone in his family by their first name.

My FH does the same with mine.

BUT...his family doesn't like one of the cousin's bf's and he refers to the parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles as MR or Mrs... It's awesome bc no one corrects him. lol

i call them by their first names.... but in cards and stuff they write mom and dad

I tried calling my FMIL Mrs. _ but then she stopped me and was like 'call me by my first name' same for FFIL. They are really cute about it. FH called my mom Mrs. _ until we got engaged and now she's like 'You can call me Mom' awwwwwwwww

I call them mom and dad. When I talk about them to my parents I say mom dad fh last name.

usually I want to call her B*!%H but normally it is just her first name.

as of now i call them by their first names...when we get married it will be mom and dad he calls my mom by her first name and i really dont think that will change..(they dont always get along)

I really am not around them too much because they are in Florida. She always emails me and writes mom. I just don't address the email back. Usually Robin though not Mrs. Hamerman

I just call them by their first names and FH calls my parents by thweir first names.

lmao I do the same thing. . I dont think i have ever called them anything. im cards from us both I write mom and dad... but I thought about it now and I dont think I have had to use either of their names or titles in years! lol
