Did anyone take a less formal approach with family invites for the inner envelope? I hate to send such a formal invite to certain people, for example, my uncle Joe and aunt Marcia. Did you stick to ettiquette? Is it easier just to keep everything uniform?

Re: Addressing inner envelope
I didn't start addressing my invites yet, but I plan on doing it like this, the outer envelope will say, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith. The inner envelope will say Aunt Rita and Uncle Joe. I don't want my inner envelopes to be formal. Do it whichever way you choose! good luck!

Re: Addressing inner envelope
I think you can do it anyway you like. There are tons of etiquette books that will tell you what is right or wrong but you should really do whatever makes you happy. The etiquette police will never see your invitations. Personally I kept my inner envelopes formal on some and informal on others. They will never be compared to each other so it doesn't really matter. Just my opinion. Good Luck!!

Re: Addressing inner envelope
I am pretty much sticking with Mr and Mrs Smith for the inside envelope. I was going to some more informal but decided to just stick with it all one way. Either way I would think is fine.

Re: Addressing inner envelope
I did the more formal inner...except for my mom and dad, sister and some people at work when I didn't know their fiances last name...
as for aunts and uncles...while I would never think of them as Mr and Mrs, I figure I can call them that anytime, I wanted to keep the theme flowing on the envelopes too...
