Addressing invitation envelopes

Addressing invitation envelopes

Hi everyone. I just needed some advice. Me and my FH were just discussing addressing our STD cards. We are using clear labels and affixing them to the envelopes. I just assumed we were doing the same for our invitations (because that is what my sister did) and he said when he spoke to his sister about it (she got married last July) she said that was a 'tacky' way to do it. When I tried to remember how she did hers, I could not. Do you think it is tacky to do it this way for our invites or should I pay a calligrapher to address and label all of them? I do not want to spend the extra money if it is not necessary. And does anyone know what a calligrapher runs anyway? We are going to have around 150 guests. Thanks for the help!

I think that instead of using clear labels I may send the entire envelope through the printer... it may look a bit nicer than the labels...

I am considering putting the envelope through the printer too.

I asked the art teacher at my job if she would do the calligraphy and she said why not just put it through the printer. It would save a lot of money.

I am still not sure yet.
