Can you use blue ink if you are planning on hand writting them? Or should it be black ink?
TIA.

Re: addressing invitations?
My guess would be that blue ink would be fine if it matches your invitations. But if your invites aren't blue then I would go with black.

I agree, I would go with the color of the invite.

well my invitations are white with a silveryblue snowflake on them. personally i think that blue would go nicely with my invitations, i just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some etiquette rule saying they need to be written in black is all.

I think usually they are in black...but a friend of mine is having a nice fall wedding and hers were in 'brown' or possibly a 'burnt' gold depending on what you want to call it. I think tying the ink color to your invitation is great. Personally, I prefer the hand-written to printed out...but that's just me. I wrote out mine and no one knew it wasn't professional! Getting a good calligraphy pen can make regular old handwriting look great! Good luck with whatever you choose.
