Addressing Invitations by Hand

Is anyone addressing their invitations by hand? If so, are you writing addresses in cursive or no?

Calligraphy is not in our budget and I'd prefer not to print labels to stick on our envelopes. My cursive writing is pretty good, but my regular handwriting I feel is much neater. I'm not sure if that's ok for wedding invitations though. Thoughts?

Re: Addressing Invitations by Hand

i brought them to J&D in merrick and they printed them for me. $1.25 per envelope plus tax and a $15 fee.

i dont know how many enveloped you had. but after i thought about how much im spending on everything else, this was a no-brainer for me!

ill send you the font i chose to if you want. its really beautiful.

Addressing Invitations by Hand - Long Island Weddings

I was going to hand address them in a sort of fancy print. I too did not have the budget for calligraphy but wanted a personal touch. But then I fell in love with a fancy font and decided to print right on the envelope. It cost me pennies per invite and just took some time and patience. I think they look awesome and I'm so glad I decided to do it.
Heres the RSVPprinted with our return address

Addressing Invitations by Hand - Long Island Weddings

My invitation designer printed our addresses directly on the invites - there was no way I could justify paying extra for calligraphy when the envelope gets thrown out!

I've read reviews about this place and was thinking depending on how much we spend on invites to possibly use them.

Addressing Invitations by Hand - Long Island Weddings

I stuck labels on mine and did a really pretty script font with block letters for the addresses. I heard not to make the addresses in fancy writing or they get sent back to you in the mail

I didn't care about the envelope addressing though because the envelopes get thrown out anyway.. Our pocketfold invites came out beautifully and I know that's what people will care about, not the envelopes lol

I used wedding ink. Just got them back. Outer envelopes were 39 cents and return address was 29 cents each. So not bad at all. If that's in ur budget

I wouldn't hand write.
If you don't have a printer, invest about $100 and buy one. It was very easy to print directly on the envelopes.

Addressing Invitations by Hand - Long Island Weddings

I had mine done with digital calligraphy from a lady in Lindenhurst. She was absolutely amazing! She charged $0.90 an envelope. Had them done in 3 days. She matched my color and font the same as my invitations. Her name is Pat and her phone number is (631) 707-2692
She's doing all my menu and church programs!

FH printed them on his printer in a beautiful font. They looked great and were cheap without looking it, and easy for him to do.

This! We had our invites addressed by Nicole and I can't say enough wonderful things about her! She's so great to work with and super affordable - calligraphy wasn't in my budget and I honestly prefer the way that ours came out because she matched the color and font of our invites to the addresses so everything matched.
