Has anyone ever addressed their invitations by hand?
How did it turn out? I am considering doing it.

Re: addressing invites
I did. My thought was that I didn't want to spend the money on a calligrapher and my mom didn't think that it was nice enough to have labels. It really wasn't too bad. I sent out 75 invites. I did about 5 a day after dinner each night. My words of advice order TONS of extra envelopes. They are usually really cheap and then you can just throw out one that you wrote by hand and don't like.

Re: addressing invites
I am using a calligraphy font on Microsoft and printing them on clear shipping labels. It looks great! And a great way to save money.

Re: addressing invites
If you have talented writing go for it. I printed the addresses directly on the envelopes from microsoft word. I am not a fan of labels on the invites

Re: addressing invites
We did our invitations ourselves and used the computer to print the envelopes.

Re: addressing invites
I handwrote the addresses. I didn't want to spend more on calligraphy and I didnt have the patience to feed the envelopes through a printer (I also don't have a printer in my apartment!) I also don't like the look of labels on the envelopes (no offense to anyone!).
I like that handwritten addresses add a personal touch . but that's JMO.
I bought pens the same color as my font and practiced my script before I went to work. I only messed up like 2 envelopes. And yes I was nervous. My hands were sweating, but I didn't get on the envelopes!!! Tee hee.
My only regret was that I should've spaced out the lines more. But it came out fine! Hopefully people won't scrutinize the envelopes!!!

Re: addressing invites
I was just going to do computer calligraphy and feed the envelopes through...I don't trust myself with ink and paper when its important like that

Re: addressing invites
I am afraid of using the computer to print the addresses onto the envelopes! I always have such bad luck with stuff like that! I think I am going to go with hand writing, I would hire someone but I just cant fit it into my budget! I have to cut a few corners. Hopefully my guests will think I am adding a personal touch, not cutting corners! :)

Re: addressing invites
I did my save the dates by hand and realized that my handwriting wasnt a elegant as I wanted it to be for our formal invites so I did them on the computer and they came out GREAT! We printed a script font straight onto our envelopes and it looked just as good as if we hired a calligrapher. Plus we saved a whole lot by doing it ourselves.
