Adjusting to shoes...

As a teeny infant , before the 'standing' days, I used to put the cutesy shoes on him, so he wouldnt pull his socks off (and cuz the shoes were ADORABLE so tiny )
Well now that he's on his feet so much, I figured I'd try to see if he can start getting used to wearing walking shoes, even for an hour a day.

Well we tried shoes on him and he completely HATED IT ! He was wobbling his feet, as if trying to kick them off, he wanted to be picked up, so he wouldnt have to stand in them, and was a big FUSSPOT !!

I also think maybe they werent comfy and a good size? IM going to Stride Rite to get his foot measured. Should I wait another month or 2 till he has completely mastered walking?

Were any of your kids reactions to shoes similar?

My twin nephews NEVER have shoes on because my SIL says they always kick them off BUT I think my SIL never let them get used to them, which is a whole other bag of worms! But I think he may eventually get used to them Anna, it is just a phase that hopefully will break....I agree, I love those teeny, tiny shoes!!!!

Patrick used to scream bloody murder he HATED shoes!!!! Now he puts on EVERYBODIES shoes!! they just have to get used to it. It's kind of like when we wear sandals all summer long & then go to buy closed toe shoes!! YUCK!!!!!!!!

He will fight for a while. Stride rite is the best for shoes some are a bit $$ but well worth it!!

I read somewhere (can't remember) that they don't really 'need' shoes until they are actually walking. But stride rite does make the best in terms of proper support for their growing feet and arches and ankle support too.

He will get used to them.
