Oddly enough, I was reading peggy posts wedding ettiquite and it said that adult only reception should never be writting on an invitation.

The addressing should make it clear who's invited 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' vs. 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Family.'

And that is why its written on the invitation - May not adhere to 'ettiquete', but neither does a dozen and a half phone calls asking if kids are invited.

I'm kinda hoping that if its staring you right in the face, there won't be a need to call or email and ask. One can only hope though!

I'm not too sure. Our website says Adults Only and we explain that we're providing a babysitter at the hotel but I have already had OOTers ask me... 'I saw on your website it was adults only but since we're are OOT guests bring our kids??'

Honestly, I think that no matter how many times you write it and where you write it, there will always be a select few that will ask anyway. It hasn't stopped for me yet - even though people were verbally told no children. I think they think I'll change my mind.

Yeah... well you can't say they're not trying... some people I am at the point where I want to say well I would have to pay half for your kid and I really don't feel like paying $75 for your kid to push mac n cheese (or whatever they feed kids at a wedding)around a plate and then listen to them cry during my first dance. I know, I am a terrible terrible person.
