Advice

So FMIL decided she wanted to pay for the engagement party. She is making it June 18th. Originally we were having it at my house now we are having it at a Catering Hall. I came home told my mother and she talks to my bother and said my niece has her graduation party on that night can we change it. (My niece is in the wedding party). We already changed the date 4 times already. What do I do?

Change it. especially if someone else is paying for it.

it's not like invitations went out already.

that's a tough one. I would change it. If they already have the party set on that date then you should change it. Family is going to be torn as th whos party they should go to. Plus if your neice is in the bridal party you prob want her at the E party. It is ultimatley up to you but if I was in your shoes as annoyed as I may be I'd change it.

Its a middle school graduation dance, and I didnt know it was going to be on that date. My mom said she can come for a bit or come later to the party. :(

I would change the date! Why have to go through that. I mean, its up to you. But its not like you sent out inviations....did you order them?

I would defiantly change it. If no defiante plans have been made yet, whats the harm in making it a week later...

I would say change it if your neice is graduating and your family is having a party for her graduation

BUT

It would seem from reading your subsequent post that a) it's a middle school graduation and b) the party is at school, not a family party

In which case I would totally LEAVE IT ALONG since you changed the date so many times already and your niece will deal, I promise.

I mean, if it's easy to change, do it, but if it's a pain, then I don't see much harm in leaving it. JMO.

butt if wat JLWSJC said is correct and its just a daytime graduation at middle school, then Id keep it

my FSIL is graduating from college the day of my eparty and we didn't change it...its a daytime thing so there is no conflict

Well, daytime or not, if the party is something my niece is attending and it's not a party being thrown FOR her, if it was that hard to find a date to begin with I wouldn't change it again. Sorry. She can come afer (how late is a middle school party gonna go?) and she'll deal with it.
