Advice about bridal party

Hi,

So I have a group of friends from home which consists of two couples, me and now my FH. FH and I have been together for almost 4 years and he knows my friends pretty well. The two girls are in my bridal party. FH is going to ask one of the guys to be in his bridal party but not the other who is my MOH's husband. I think it will cause drama but FH doesnt agree b/c he was not in MOH's husband's bridal party. But they didn't really know each other that well when my MOH got married. What do you think?

it may cause drama...but your fh should not have to include him in the wedding party if they aren't close.

I would say that you can make a suggestion to your FH but if he doesnt want him in the bridal party the final decision should rest with him... If there was a bridesmaid he wanted that you didnt want to have, what do u think ur answer would be?

i have had A LOT of bridal party drama since i have been engaged. i HIGHLY SUGGEST that you chose your bridal party with your heart, and not be concerned wit hthe drama that may come about. it's YOUR wedding... no one else's !!!!

It could cause drama, but if your FH is close with one and not the other, there's no reason to have both in the party. You get to choose your MOH and BM's, he gets to choose his GM's.

My FH has a cousin that he's really close with and wanted me to make a BM. I told him it's great that he's close with her, but I'm not that close with her. Besides I already have 8 on my side between my two sisters, his sister, and 5 of my girlfriends that I've known forever.

Our friends are mostly all couples too, but I wouldn't insist that he asks one of my BM's husbands/boyfriends just because they're a couple.

In my experience guys don't usually cause drama by themselves. It's usually the girls who make a big deal about things like this.

Fh could say he has friends of his own who he wanted to be in the bridal party. Perhaps you can ask this guy to be a reader, or an usher, or something else.

But, make sure your MOH isn't going to make a big deal about him not being included. This could be the kind of thing the guys don't really care about and the girls start arguing over.

I have to agree. I wouldnt put someone just because I felt I had to, I want the person to have meaning in my life.

This was my major fear. My MOH and I have been friends for a really long time and I don't want to upset her. But after reading everyone's comments, it seems like not having him in the bridal party is the best decision. I already suggested that FH include him but he doesn't really want to and I don't want to force him to.
