Advice anyone?

I sent out my invitations a week ago. Nobody has received them yet. Everyone wants the hotel information and such. I hate the post office! It's always something. My bridesmaids had the same issue when they mailed out the shower invites. They were all late. I'm calling the post office but the phone is off the hook. Is this normal? A week delay in mailing? Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what was the outcome?

Advice anyone?

Did you drop them off at the post office or in a blue box? Maybe they didn't have sufficient postage?

Did it through the Staples service. They were so helpful and weighed everything properly. Helped my FH stamp them and everything. Unlike the post office who are crap ugh. I called them today and they said the box was picked up. They're sorry but couldn't help me beyond that. They say its in the hands of the post office. It's so annoying!

Re: Advice anyone?

Oh man, that sucks. Maybe it took a couple of days for the USPS to pick it up from Staples. Then I'm sure USPS has a special process for bulk outgoing mail like that...

I can see it being tied up for a few extra days. Give it a few more, and then maybe contact your postmaster. Maybe they can help.

Thanks for your advice. Just freaking it out a little bit. The wedding is next month. Everything has been so great so far, haven't freaked out about anything and now this.. There are out of towners looking for their invitation and I couldn't give them an answer...you know. Thank you. I will have to do that. Nobody at the post office answers the phone.

Do you know what post office it was being sent out of? I would go down there personally if its not too far and speak with them face to face. They may never pick up the phone i'm sure they get yelled at 100 times a day. Sorry your having to deal with this

Advice anyone?

How far was everything going? USPS from experience at work, takes FOR-EV-ER. Hence the nick name 'snail mail'. lol. Also, they blame slow downs on the weather. We had some snow over the past week in the area which could have affected it!

Advice anyone?

Not trying to be a downer but we mailed our invitations on January 24th and out of about 125 invitations, about 25 people were never received. Some people received them as late as just this last week, that's over a month later! (And I'm talking about from East Islip to Astoria Queens, or Bay Shore, not inter-state or anything) We ended up sending out some duplicates because people hadn't received them. The post office blamed it on the weather for me. Really not a fun experience at all, but something you literally have NO control over! Hopefully with the weather improving everyone should begin to get yours!!

OMG! That is crazy! I'm sorry. This is BS! I can't even deal. I live in Queens and the majority of the guests do as well. It's so irresponsible and really not nice of the post office to be so passive about it. You're not a downer. It happened to you and I it's awful. I just hope they aren't all lost. I really don't think they can be remade and sent out in time. And truthfully who the hell is going to pay for their mess up! Ugh. I'm freaking out. I'm really glad yours eventually got there and I'm sorry you had to deal with this mess too.

Advice anyone?

I mailed mine out of Commack and ppl were literally texting me the next day about receiving them. So far we got back 40% of the responses. Maybe the recent snow is delaying them?

Advice anyone?

I'm not sure but they were sent out last monday there hasn't really been much snow. It's thankfully finally stopped. I live in Queens so most were going throughout the 5 boroughs, some out of state and some to LI. Literally nobody has received anything. That's what worries me is that its far too many invitations not received versus the few that could have been lost in the jumble.

I'm sure the post office was just backed up and your guests will all have them by next week! Look on the bright side, if they are so anxious to receive them then maybe they will RSVP right away.....(we can dream, can't we?) Lol

Advice anyone?

When my husband and I sent out our invitations we had a few guests who never received their invitations. Not sure what happened but we had to follow up with a few calls. Also take into account the crappy weather we had last week with all that snow. Keeping my fingers crossed you will be getting some RSVP's back ASAP =)
