advice for long distance (teacher) bride... help!!

Hello!!

My FH and I recently moved to SC, but are getting married Sat, May 16th on LI. I got a better deal having it in May, but I'll still be teaching, and I can probably only take 2 personal days to make it work. (either fly out a thursday night and back on a monday, or wednesday-sunday)

I was wondering what kind of things do I need to do days before the wedding?? I feel like at that time mostly everything will be done, but I'm just nervous! Worst comes to worse, I could fly up the weekend before, but I was wondering if you ladies could tell me what the last few days before the wedding entails.

Thanks!!

I tried to post, but got timed out and lost it.

I'm also a teacher and also planned from out of town.

Since you will probably be flying the weekend of the wedding, you will be limited in terms of what you can bring with you. Try to get as much of your wedding stuff to NY as early as you can (for example, dress, accessories, programs, placecards, parent gifts, bridal party gifts, etc.). You don't want to deal with lots of heavy luggage or the stress if something important is lost by the airlines.

Make a vendor contact list of names and phone numbers. Make sure your reception hall, parents, MOH, BM, and FH all have copies. Make sure you have up to date cell phone numbers for the bridal party.

Make sure there is someone in charge of the license.

Don't start any last minute projects!!! You want to enjoy your time with friends and family prior to the wedding. (I was literally finishing the las project the morning of the wedding).

Accept offers of help!

Enjoy the little moments of the wedding in addition to all the big ones.

Know that you will have a great summer!
