advice needed.

Re: advice needed.

I would write a letter. I would get all of my feelings out in the open and for me knowing that I wrote the letter and let the man know how I felt would be enough closure for me. He should hear it from you even if nothing comes out of it. Sounds you had to deal with that on and after your special day, it really stinks.

Is this DJ the owner of the Co?
if not write the letter to the owner....the owner should know how his/her staff behave at a wedding.
Vendors need to leave their prejuidices at the door...they are getting paid to perform a service....not voice their fears/opionins...a wedding is not the time or place for political debates.

First of all if you do write, call, etc it would only be for your conscious, your closure. You'd be doing it for you and your BIL. Nothing is going to change Mr. John Catone's (DJ) opinion. He's going to think what he wants regardless of what you say. Just maybe next time, he'll might want to think twice and shut up.

Like I said before, so what it's 2005..... in year 2025 (oh my god can you imagine????) people are still going to be weird about certain stuff. There will ALWAYS be close minded people in the world.

Stuff like that makes the world go round, whether we like it or not. There will always be people in this world prejudice of something whether it's of someone's skin color or sexual preference. It goes even beyond that.

But for every person that has a problem with it...... there are thousands who don't.

i would ABSOLUTELY send a letter to him.

It is clear from your response that you feel strongly that his behavior was inappropriate.

To me, not following through with something that upsets you is a complete betrayal of yourself and your feelings. If you are upset, THIS IS VALID and should be addressed.

A letter is a great way to be non-confrontational and still communicate your feelings articulately.

Stand up to people like this - they are the reson this world can be such a hateful, discriminatory place.

I do NOT think you should let it go...

You should definately address the matter with him. A lttert is fine, or I would have DH call (men respond better to men... sexist, I know, but you said you do not stick up for yourself, so hopefully DH can be more forceful).

If for nothing else, it will give you peace of mind, and HOPEFULLY change this DJ's views for the future. he was there as a PAID professional, and it does NOT sound like he was the latter.

For anyone to have to tolearate his stupid comments, at a Family members wedding is rediculous.

I think that wa stotally un-professional of him and I am outraged for you

Write him a letter. Although nothing will probably come from it - at least it gets it off your chest.....hopefully he will think twice about saying something like that ever again.

You are a bigger person than me because I would have said/done something really bad to him at that point (or at least after the wedding).
