Advice needed on Centerpiece - UPDATE!

Original post by MrsFudge

OK - so here is what my CP will look like but with different color flowers.. I hyjacked the pic from another brides wedding because I think it is so beautiful...

Here is my issue - I am on a tight budget and can't seem to find decently priced IVORY pillar candles....

Do you think that I will get the same ambience w/10 votives and petals on the table w/out the pillars? This is driving me crazy...

TIA girls!

UPDATE - Girls thanks for all your advice - I have decided to ditch the pillar candles and just use 10 votives scattered around the table and around the CP.

I love that centerpiece....I am going to put it in my notebook--I want to do half tall and half short and that is the first picture of short ones that I really liked-so thanks!....but anyway, about your question I actually think i would prefer the look of the votives over the pillars....it will take up less room and be more romantic and softer looking IMO. I will be doing something exactly like you are describing for my non-tall centerpieces.

try linens n things, IKEA, or walmart for pillars - LNT usually has a pack of 9 for $6

FYI: this CP is from my cousin's wedding - KL805. Her florist was nothing but the best - Flower Michele. They were as stunning in person as it is in the pic.

W/ that said, I think votives would be just as pretty. She opted for the pillars since Watermill had oval tables. Had the tables been round, she would have went for votives herself.

You might also want to try Party City. My fiancee used to work for them and sometimes they have incredible deals on candles

I was able to get 10 inch pillars at AC Moore for $3.00 last month. I believe they are usually $3.50 per candle. I love your centerpiece.

I think your centerpiece is gorgeous - and I think it will look as beautiful with votives or tealights instead of pillars. Good luck!

Try Michaels and Family Dollar. But I do thing the votives can be just as pretty and more safe.

Yes, I do and think Votives will be safer than pillars. IMO

I think your centerpieces will look amazing! I also am going for that candlelight/romantic look...and the petals on the table, and the votives..believe me, it will look gorgeous, whether you have the larger pillars or not...you cant go wrong! Good luck..and ill keep my eye out for a good price on either type of candle!
