Advice to May 04 Brides........

1. Don't plan a full outdoor wedding. As this month proved, you can NOT be guaranteed a dry day in May
If you do, have a solid Plan B for indoors.

It's so hard to tell. May should normally be beautiful, and the chances of it downpouring 2 years in a row is not high. BUT you just never know. We're in June now, and it's STILL raining. Tomorrow and Thurs. it will be Thunderstorms. But next year you never know.

For this reason, with no knowledge of the downpours we would get, I chose a place with BOTH indoor and outdoor beauty. Maybe that would be a good options.

But don't be discouraged.... you can keep your outdoor plans, but your Indoor plan B must be a solid one, that you won't be heartbroken about taking at the last minute b/c it rains on your day.

Here's some more advice, make sure you go over with your catering hall what the backup plan is if it rains. Do they have an indoor studio or place for you to take pictures and where will things be moved to? Someone I know was very upset because it rained on her wedding day and the catering hall had to move her cocktail hour because the couple that was supposed to have their cocktail hour outside had to have it inside. The girl hated the room the cocktail hour was in. Find this out before you even book with the place.

HAVE A BACKUP PLACE FOR YOUR PICTURES IN CASE OF RAIN!!!!!!!

If you're having an outdoor ceremony, have your florist make arrangements that can be MOVED. We had a gorgeous arch, and you can use it outside, inside, wherever. You get more use out of it, rather than just decorating the gazebo (or whatever) with flowers.
