Advice to those using table cameras

Make sure to have your DJ/MC or band make an announcement regarding your table cameras, explaining that they are for the guests to have fun with, and to leave them on the table once the film has been finished. We left 25 cameras for John Anthony`s to distribute over our tables, and I left them a chart of how many cameras were to go on each table. Well, for whatever reason, we only came home with 13. That`s a lot of missing cameras. I was hoping people who may have mistakenly brought them home would develop the film, then send us a set of the prints. So far, no luck. :( A friend of ours told us we should have at least had the DJ explain about the cameras, but we should have had the DJ make an announcement toward the end of the night to have guests drop off the cameras at his stand. In the box with all the cameras, I did leave a card that was supposed to go to the DJ, with an announcement for him to read explaining the cameras, but I guess he didn`t get it, and that was one of the many things that did not cross my mind until it was too late. Please, don`t let this happen to you.

Advice to those using table cameras

I don`t want to assume they weren`t put out .. but there are a lot of cameras missing and that thought did unfortunately cross my mind. I have asked around a bit, and while I haven`t gotten to talk to alot of people, I have heard from some people that their tables did have 2 cameras, just as I had requested. I did, however, ask that a camera be placed on our table, and I know we didn`t have one .. so I don`t know where that one went. I was hoping maybe I was off by one camera in my chart of how they were to be distributed. Anyway, bottom line, have those announcements made!

Advice to those using table cameras

Kel- I made a little paper sleeve on the computer saying, please take photos and leave the cameras on the table at the end of the night, etc. I guess I'll tell the DJ to say something in case only the person who removes the paper sees the message!

Oh yeah...

There were table cards for each camera explaining what to do with the cameras, and some people did say they saw them out on the tables.

Same thing but we had the announcement

The dj made an announcement. We had 15 cameras out-one on each table- and came home with 13. I know they were out there too, I saw them. Its so hard to tell where the tables who didnt take shots are because each table takes some of the next ones they know, so we cant really tell which table were missing :P But its very frustrating!

Looking back...

I think personalizing the cameras somehow would have been great, this way if the reception hall finds cameras later, they will know what party they were from. Also, I guess it would be a good idea to have it say directly on the camera that it should be left on the table when the film is finished. I`m still keeping my fingers crossed that the other 12 cameras show up.

camera idea

Many of my friends also didn't come home with the right number of cameras. I'm buying 10 and giving them to my bridesmaids, MOH, BM, and ushers. This way, I'll know who has them and there will be a better chance of me getting them back. Just a thought.

camera idea

I also heard about someone putting the table # on the camera so at least you would know which tables were missing. But frankly at this point I'm too busy :)

We got all ours back

We didn't ask our DJ to make the announcment, but fortunately for us the maitre'd did. We also had table cards that said to take pictures but please leave them. I would make sure that you ask both the DJ and the Maitre'd to make sure everyone knows to leave the camera's behind. Kel I hope you get them back!!!

Wendy...

Thanks. I`m really bummed out about this, thinking of all the pictures we should have gotten back, and now, for whatever reason, we`re only coming back with just about half of what we should have.

Advice to those using table cameras

Sorry to hear you didn't get all your cameras back, Kel. We got all 10 of ours back with some surprisingly great shots! I was so relieved to see that there weren't 100 pictures of Steve and I and so many of our guests!! Maybe your guests will send you copies of the pictures if they kept the camera? Good luck!

Advice to those using table cameras

I had 15 table cameras and got back 14. One that we got back was not even used. But most people knew the deal with the table cameras so we got 13 rolls of great candid shots. I put all the pics in a photo album where you can put a caption next to it. I wrote who the people were in the pics - name, relation (friend, cousin) and sometimes a funny caption. It helps alot when others are viewing the pics so you don`t have to narrate the whole album. Also I figured somewhere down the line we will have kids or grandkids (!!) and it will help when we are old and senile sitting in our rocking chairs and can hardly remember our own names :o) The table pics were really worth it. We got a bunch of us cutting the cake and other key moments but they were mainly of the guests which is perfect. Enjoy your plans...
