Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced restaurants for a small engagement party (about 50-60 people) that they have had good experiences with?

I had my shower and RD at Pomodorino's in Hauppauge, FM if you want details
BTW: My engagement party was in SIL's backyard so we didn't go to a restaurant

How about La Piazza in Bellmore, Merrick rd. They have a mini catering place there and the food is good. I just actually ate there for lunch. Also, Jonathans in Mineola on Jericho Tpe. Its all about where you are looking as well. Pompei's in West Hempstead too.

I'd prefer Western Suffolk or Eastern Nassau. Queens is way too far for the fam to travel.

Okay, I will second the suggestion of Pompei in West Hempstead. Their pricing is reasonable and I know of 2 people that have had 3 parties there (engagement, bridal shower and baby shower).
What about the Holiday Inn in Westbury (across from Fortuoffs), they have a restaurant and private party rooms (Had FSIL's bridal shower there), speak with Laurie (Banquet Mgr).
Sorry I can't be of much more help. I live in Queens and grew up in Rockville Centre, I don't know much out east.

We had ours at Nocello's in Northport. It was very reasonable and there's a really great band there on Friday nights. All of our guests raved about the band, the food and the service. We couldn't have asked for more!

I had my engagement party at Domenico's in Levittown. The food was terrific and I thought they were affordable. I had 100 people and we had a running tab. It cost about $3,000.
They have many packages to choose from.

the curtain to the right was closed so we used the bar area first for about an hour then moved into the dining room
