Re: Affordable Wedding Reception/ceremony
and ITA, you should look into doing a week night (mon-thurs) or off season - june 23rd is probably one of the most expensive days of the year to get married

Another thing I didn't mention - I would look into restaurants or bars that aren't usually open during the day. That would make it cheaper to rent out because they wouldn't be losing any business and you would have a really unique venue.

This is such a good idea! Definitely considering this for the bridal shower! (My BM's and MOH's are out of state so I will have to choose the place)

George Martin in RVC has an upstairs room that could definitely hold 50. We had my dad's 60th birthday there and my sister is having her shower there. Since it's more of a bar/restaurant and not a typical wedding place, you could probably get a good deal.
Good luck!

Re: Affordable Wedding Reception/ceremony
I second (or third) Millridge Inn (STUNNING) or Douglaston Manor (beautiful, and I think they have smaller rooms, my fiance's family had a christening which was like a wedding in my family lol there that was really nice like 60 people). Or what about a flash wedding...make a reservation but don't say 'WEDDING.' Once you say that, they usually jack up the price! Good luck!
