Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
yeah ladyluv I do get a little nervous. But then I think of it as a start of a new life for me and I know that once I get thru my day everything will be okay.

Aug 21- 04 I can truly relate. I was just hoping I wasn't the only one feeling this way. Of course FH states 'No I'm not nervous at all. Why should I be?' Sounds like the macho ego is kicking in!! Can't wait until our day, so I can see exactly see how nervous he is not. (Yeah Right!)

I'm hoping that it won't because I like the way it makes the skin look flawless maybe it's just the camera or bad lighting- I don't know...

LADYLUV & AUG-21-04
CRAAAZZZZYYY!!! is the word for how I'm acting right now with 6 months to go....I'm still agonizing over the small details and my hall switched us to a larger room because we super exceeded our minimum
I'm straight up f*****g NERVOUS!!!
All of my intial plans I had conjured up in my mind are out and I'm thinking of new ones, but my banquet manager at the Huntington Townhouse - Ellen Rose - keeps telling me: Relax, you have time, we'll discuss the details later, it's too soon!
Yeah right!: But seriously I have decided to center my spirit and pray on it. I've got to calm down
So here's to you guys, we're in this countdown together now

Do the airbrushing, you will look gorgeous don't worry about the photography your makeup artist should be skilled in knowing how much to apply to your face - most makeup (foundation - liquid or creme) does not make you look ashy...as for AA sistah's we tend to be combo skin or too oily....if you're using a pressed powder - this could be your culprit - it could be the color which is easy to correct. Have your photographer take a color pic of you and b&w so you can see the effects....b&w photos are for drama, not drama on the face...good luck
PS I'm doing the airbrushing!

CHRIS&JAMES
Girl you have to learn to upload your pics on this site
I looked at your tiara, it's nice.
If you plan on purchasing from that shop they're ok. I went to them 1st because I work in the field upstate sometimes and stopped by there on my way home....that place is a hole in the wall....they have no dressing room and an old wood floor....they have lots of wedding gowns, downstairs in the basement, 1 staff person running up and down plus they have the nerve to book people if you purchase anything from them do it over the internet...they will not honor web prices vs. store prices....the upside is they do have everything in stock and you can call them ahead to double check, they are telephone friendly. Good luck.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Hey, we just ordered our wedding bands today and applied for our passports. I almost forgot all about this. Now I have to sit down and see what is left for us to do. I need more hrs in a day. 24 is just not enough.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Hi Ladies, I was wondering if anyone knows a good inexpensive officiant. I am coming up there in April and hope to get everything finalized. Me and my fi are both catholic but non-denominational is okay as well. Thanks a lot!!

Sorry I don't know anyone like that. Hopefully, one of the girls who reads this can recommend someone. If I hear anything I'll let you know, but until then good luck with the search.

Try posting a general thread to ask the other ladies about a priest.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
My FG dresses are in. They are beautiful in person. I am very excited. I'm going to go next month to get their shoes. Of course I will be getting them a half size larger. I've decided to get them now b/c it will be around Easter time and there will be alot of different types of white shoes I can choose from. It is hard to find white shoes for children in July. I'm talking from experience b/c my sister went through it 2 yrs ago when she got married.
