Not being a racist....but where are the hairstylists and make-up artists that cater to Black women? Did anyone on these boards have any luck as of yet or nformation?

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I booked Lynda Lane, I fell in love with her, beautiful personality and good to work with, thanks for the referral info....as for the HTH did you pick a cake from their book or are you designing your own?....they told us we could bring in a pic of something we liked and have it recreated by their bakers.....I'm unsure and a little uneasy now

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I like both of them as well, I like the round shape of the 1st one, but the detail of the 2nd one.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Catering hall includes a cake but I don't want to get my hopes up too high if they cannot replicate it, I was trying to stay elegant but simple...otherwise I may have to order a cake from an outside vendor...one more thing to drive me nuts

YAY! You're like the 8th Lynda bride I've gotten her! Isn't she sweet?! PICS! I know she took some, did you?
HTH I don't think will do a square cake - someone on theknot was complaining, call them and ask. She also said they only allowed you 3 flavors. But they should do most other things within reason. I hope.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Well that will be one of the questions on a long list for HTH! Yes, my coordinator took pics, I have to post them, I'm at work and they're at home on my PC, I have a home network setup but I'm not that savvy accessing it here from my office

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I like the first style in lilac, but not in white. The second in white, but not in lilac.
I know that that doesn't help.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I recently have discovered the wonders of Ebay. I have been completely satisfied with all of my purchases, most items being wedding stuff. You just have to make sure you read the seller's rating and the entire description.
So far I have gotten: * 144 clear votive candleholders and unscented candles * Knife set * 3 FG dresses * 2 tiaras * BM jewelry * FG baskets * RB pillow * Guestbook
And the best purchase of all....TiVo!!

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
how pretty. I might make it myself instead of having my mother do it. I will start looking out for sales at Michael's.
