after all my drama with dresses!! i finally decided on one! *WITH PICS*
okay, so as many of you i am sure know....i purchased a dress from running of the brides...a kenneth pool dress, it is MAGNIFICENT (and way out of my price range, worth at least 6k (minimal), however, after trying it on again....parts of the dress i was unsure about,
it didnt match my great grandmothers veil that i wanted to wear, and i didnt really want to go through all the trouble of finding a seamstress (i am hardly home as it is) b/c i think i still would have been so worried and uneasy about it not coming out the way that i wanted it to ....that it just wasnt worth all the stress in the end.
so i started looking around again (still unsure what i was going to do).....i went to beautiful bride in lynbrook first since it is SO close to my parents house. Mary Alice helped me and she was SO nice. i went early when they opened so she gave me complete attention and spent forever with me. well i had found a dress that i liked, but still i kept going back and forth with my original dress from ROTB (as i am sure you all know).
then i went to lilettes (pat helped me and she was really great too!)....i posted 2 that i liked recently. but still i wasnt too sure about all the laciness to each of them. and again, they prob wouldnt have worked with my great grandmothers veil.
well......finally, my mom and i went back to beautiful bride today to try the dress on again (with no intent of buying), (i tried on a few others too). and i just fell in love again! the dress was perfect, not a thing needed to be changed (which makes me SOOO happy you have no idea)!! then my mom decided to run home to get the veil (so i stood there for a long time in the dress waiting for here, i had a lot of time to check myself out, lol) and the veil matched beautifully!!! i think right then we knew it was meant to be. i think if i had never gone to running of the brides this would have been the dress i had ended up with in the first place (as this was just what i had wanted from the very beginning). so i found pics of the dress online....here it is.
and here is my great grandmothers veil (it is cathedral length (the length of the veil falls just before the beading on the train of the dress, and it borders the beading on the train perfectly)
