my cousin got married a few months ago at Jericho Terrace and had this done...Sounds like fun!
really? hmmm do you know what room they did it in?
I know she had the reception in the large room, becasue that was the room we were considering before actually taking the Oheka. I think the room is the skylight room..
and they had the lounge in the same room as the reception? hmmmm interesting, i have the skylight room
No the lounge was in another room..it worked out fine becasue the day she got married...there was a sweet 16 in the smaller room which ended quite early..
yeah that makes more sense, i thought before you said both were in the same room.
nah the reception was in the large room and the lounge in the small room...it worked out nice though

Re: After Hours Lounge at your wedding?
plus with the 2am thing you have to remember iam having 300-350 guests even if half leave we still have about 150 guests, even if a little more than half leave its a decent amount.

Carlyle on the Green does it too...
I think Lands End would too if we wanted it (they have a loungy cigar room with leather couches and fireplaces), we're not doing it.

After hours is arranged for FH and myself to take the day/night in and enjoy our first night of being married! I don't want ANYONE else around!

Re: After Hours Lounge at your wedding?
from what i seen on TV the lounge isn't always in another room.....if the room is big enough they can section a corner off with pretty drapes and stuff and make it seem like a different room..that way u sit hear the DJ music and everything

Our wedding ends at 6:30PM, we are going to go to a bar in Huntington afterwards with everyone to chill out ... i can't afford to pay for an after party!!!

My fiancee and I went to a wedding a couple of years ago at Oheka and they had it. It was really nice!!!! It was like a cigar/jazz thing and they had cordials an cappuccinos and stuff. My RH offers it too, I would love to have it but its $$$$.

Re: After Hours Lounge at your wedding?
Where we got married they have a sky dome lounge on the top floor that has a huge bar, dance floor and live music...so after the wedding, everyone moved the party upstairs. It was perfect because the people that wanted more were able to stay for 2 more hours.
Our venue has a 'lounge' feel to it already, part of the reason why we choose it. We're having an after party @ the bar in our hotel, it has 'old world' charm too, so it'll bring a different element

Re: After Hours Lounge at your wedding?
Well if you have Oheka then there is plenty of room to do this in. Did you enjoy it when your Cousin did it?
I am not sure about an after hours lounge for us, but in the place where we are having ours we have a Bar/lounge that is open for 2 hours for free after our reception is over.
