So - I'm having a day time wedding during Labor Day weekend. We're doing it to have more time with our out of town guests.
Anyway, we're definitely doing an After Party but I'm just curious - would you say that the Bride & Groom take care of the bill or would it be RUDE to have the After Party as a cash bar?
We're so torn!!! The bill can really sky rocket quite quickly - so I'm just curious if anyone has done this or knows what would be the right thing to do.
Thanks in advance!

After party?
I would book a place that you could do an open bar and pay a set price per person. We are doing an after party at the hotel and did a price per person for any who want to join and it's open bar but for us it was a personal choice and financially we were able to do it. If it got too costly we would have just done a cash bar. You do what you feel comfortable with!!!

Re: After party?
Thank you for the input. The issue is, I don't feel comfortable doing a cash bar but part of me also thinks - we just paid for a huge/spectacular wedding!!! LOL I'm so torn!!!

After party?
every after party i've been to at hotels have been cash bars- so that's what we plan to do... our wedding ends at midnight and the booze is free until then, so I see nothing wrong with doing a cash bar after the wedding at the hotel.

Same here. Most after parties I've been to have been cash bars. Mine is going to be as well.

I think it's fine to have a cash bar as long as you're up front about it... after all, you're providing them with a beautiful reception with plentiful alcohol! And... some people will have had enough to drink at the afternoon reception that maybe the cash bar will give them a much-needed slowdown!

Thank you all. We're not doing the after party at the hotel - otherwise, we'd definitely make it a cash bar.
Lots to think about - but thank goodness, I have time! :)
Thanks all!!!

I've never been to an after party that wasn't cash bar.
