After the shower... - Long Island Weddings

I never heard of the superstition, I just heard traditionally a bridal shower was to buy stuff for your first home with your husband but of course this was before couple's started to live together before being married. FH and I decided not to use any of our bridal shower gifts until we move into our house together which hopefully will happen soon after we are married.

I have received gifts already and I am using them :) No use to anyone sitting on a shelf!

I am not very superstitious. We got a blender/ food processor as an engagement gift from my family, and I've been using it since the day I got it. We will also be receiving registry gifts on Christmas from our families, that we might use (there are a few things we most definitely need).

I am not superstitious about this stuff. I mean most of us are all living with our FHs pre marriage (which some would say is bad luck too!) and therefore we have a 'home' together so I wouldn't say you have to wait. We are using stuff from our engagement now too.

I've never heard of this superstition. I must be out of the loop! FH and I are are will be moving into an apartment together in December and between the both of us, we just have odds and ends from family. So most likely we will use some things from the shower (or possible from x-mas since i'm telling everyone to get us stuff off the register).
