who do you book after the venue??? just curiose. we are gonna look at some venues in april but was just wondering after that who do you book nest? how long did you ladies wait till you booked your next vendor?

Hi! I booked my venue a couple of weeks ago and the next thing I did was book the DJ, that's all I have so far so I'm probably really behind LOL but next on my list is photography and flowers

I would say whatever is most important to you should be next. For FH and I it was finding an amazing band, so we did that next. For some girls it's photo/video. I would say do whatever is most important first but those 3 should probably be your next big ones in whichever order you decide.

I booked photography after the venue because that was the next important thing for me. Then we did the DJ.

Our DJ won't discuss anything with us until March or so, instead we are going to meet with and book our officiant and start looking at flowers.

We booked venue first, since we figured that was the hardest to grab the date. Then we booked the church, to make sure we could actually get married. Then we did the DJ, because we figured we need that to go along with the party. Next we are thinking photographer. Probably close to my 1 year mark I will start the dress hunt.

We the the venue then church. We did DJ, florist, and photog after that (all in the same weekend.) I'm planning long distance so I had to meet with vendors when I was on LI.

We checked with our church first, then venue. Photographer/video was next, really wanted to do STD. Booked DJ and now have flowers and limos.

After the church and reception venue we did photographer, video, and DJ. Like others have said. Whatever the most important things to you are what you should do first.

After the venue, I booked the photographer... only bc those were the 2 most important things to me and I wanted to make sure I got both in advance so that I would get exactly what I want.

after the venue..

If you're not getting married there then your church to make sure you can get married on the date. Then in terms of what's important to you. Many times they say photographer because while a vendor like a limo or florist can handle many weddings on one day if you want a certain photographer they can only do one wedding per day. I booked in order of importance and vendors that could do one wedding per day to make sure I got them. Unfortunately, both photographer and videographer that I wanted were already booked :( I went venue, DJ (my fiance' said we had to have this particular one, so we made sure he was available for the date before we even booked the venue), then Officiant because that was important to me, then photographer/videographer. Now I'm doing florist, limo etc. I did it all one at a time because I didn't want to get overwhelmed, so however long it took to research, meet with, compare, negotiate, then book, then on to the next one. HTH!

I may be over enthusiastic but I believe in just getting it done as soon as possible...we booked alot within a few months...then again my FH was supposed to go into the Vermont State Police and that didn't work out...

So take your time, do some research, and book them as soon as you can!

PS photographers book fast!

I did church and venue simultaneously. Next up we booked our band because the good ones book up fast! Right after that we did photo/video... then we were able to relax for a little while :)

We booked venue first, then church, and then DJ/Band since they book up fast and we got a great discount from a friend! Next to work on is photographer and flowers!

I agree whatever is most important to you. We knew the venue was our hardest booked that, flowers I knew who I was using so I booked that after and we have been working on photography cause that is big to us so we want to make sure we like our choice and feel comfortable with it. Everyone is different. I know I am not dress shopping until I lose weight and more closer to my 1 yr out mark.
