How is your day mapped out? I only have 1 hr for pictures before cocktails and after the ceremony. What time are you having makeup done?
The makeup person is coming at noon for my 3:30 wedding. The photographer is coming at 1:30. We have more time for pictures in between, but we have to travel about 20 minutes. Are your ceremony and reception at the same place?
I had an 11:00 wedding and a 1:00 cocktail hour. Hair & make up people came at 7:00, photographer at 9:00. With all his setting up, I didn`t have to be ready for the pics until 9:30. Pictures for 1 1/4 hours and then to the church. We had a ceremony not a mass and were able to have a receiving line. We took pics at the church and then took the rest of the pics on the grounds of our reception hall during the cocktail hour. I didn`t want to have to do that because we didn`t want to miss out on a moment but it was really great actually. They kept making sure we all had food & drinks and followed us around with a tray so it`s was actually fun. Plus the 'entrance' was fun too. Reception from 2 - 6 and then later we went home and changed and stopped by my mother`s house, then his mother`s where everyone was continuing the partying. It all worked out great. Our reception hall was about 1/2 hour away and we hit a bit of traffic on the LIE (shocker!). As a side note, I only had me, my mother, MOH & BM at home to be made up and photographed before the wedding so it may not work as smoothly with a large wedding party but things have a way of working out just fine.
My wedding was at 2:30. The make-up artist came at 8:30am (For myself and 5 others in the bridal party) The hair person came at 9:00am.
The photographer came at noon.
We left for the church at 2:15
Coctail hour started at 4:00
We took our pictures in the same room as the coctail hour, so our guests could stop and say hello.
We got 99% done before the reception started.
