So I just got back from looking at RHs and up until today I always thought I was going to do a Saturday evening wedding. After seeing the shocking difference in price, I'm starting to think about the possibility of an afternoon wedding. Is anyone having an afternoon wedding? What are your thoughts on it? Any feedback would really be appreciated! TIA

Re: Afternoon or evening?
I'm doing a Sunday evening. I really wanted a Saturday evening but there was no way that we would be able to afford it. We picked the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend so a lot of people will have off on that Monday, so then it's almost like a Saturday night. Also my party ends at 11:00pm ao it's not that late. I really wanted evening because we have a big party crowd and I feel they will dance and drink more at night. I want a more lively atmosphere. Also I'm having my ceremony at my RH and want time to take my pictures and get ready beforehand without waking up at 5:00am.

Re: Afternoon or evening?
i am doing a sat afternoon wedding... i am happy with my plans and absolutely love my RH but...
just one thing to consider that i didn't before i booked (the $45pp difference made the decision very easy for us at the time) is where a lot of your guests will be coming from.
i have a good amount of guests that will be coming from jersey and staten island (the RH is in suffolk county) so now i am racking my brain on how to accomidate them b/c i am having an 11am ceremony, 12:30 reception (my mother has been complaining about traveling, lodging, etc)

Re: Afternoon or evening?
I am having a Sun Afternoon wedding. I chose a hall with no windows and clocks so people can drink and party as they want
No seriously, it just came down to the budget for us. Sunday is cheaper and we want people to stay the full 5 hours. We start the ceremony at 2:30pm and will be done by 9pm. Most of my guests are in Queens so they don't have to go far and the oot guests are right near the airport if they have to. No kids allowed so not worried about school the next day. I enjoy myself no matter what time the party begins, and the afterparty is the best part.
You do what makes you happy

Re: Afternoon or evening?
I am getting married on a Saturday afternoon, it is alot cheaper as opposed to a night wedding. I am really excited!!!!! Beacause we can party after the wedding into the night.

We're having a Saturday evening reception. Personally, I like the mood better when the sun goes down

Re: Afternoon or evening?
Also, if you have a winter wedding like me, it gets dark at 4, so you will still have 2 hours of darkness and youre paying half the price!

Re: Afternoon or evening?
Yeah, I hope for October 31st so I don't know how much darkness I'll get. It really stinks because this isn't even really about price - it's about room size and minimums. So confused and sad over this. It's all FH and I have been talking about.
