I'm having an afternoon wedding. I always wanted a night wedding but am saving a ton of money by having it earlier in the day. I am a little nervous that guests won't be in as much of a party moon on a Sunday afternoon but either way I know I'm going to have fun. I think day weddings have their pros and cons but its all about what workd for you. The good thing is that you can always have an after-party at night.

I totally agree. If budget is an issue, you will save a lot. The only drawback I find is that you dont have a lot of time in the morning to prepare and take your time. You will be on the go very early (however I doubt many of us will be sleeping anyway). As far as the wedding itself, I think everyone will enjoy themselves whether you have a wedding during the day or at night. We are planning on an after party as well.

The best part about an afternoon wedding is getting in some nice day time pics. Esp. in Nov. it gets dark earlier so if you can take your pics early you can have sunlight. Also if you want you can go on a honeymoon right after your reception....and if yu have having a v-hour..you won't have to worry about people leaving early because they have to go to work or somewhere the next day. Another good thing is that you save lots of money.

ETA: If you prepare everything the day before you shouldn't really be rushing the morning of....You just have to be organized.

I never even considered a night wedding. I'm a morning person and I get tired around 11 lol. I wanted a Satuirday day wedding so we could all hang out with our OOT guests at the hotel that night after.

It ended up working out great for us -- I got up at 6 am, got ready, we did our reveal at 8 am. We were allowed to be in the RH at 9 am on for the florist to set up and we took tons of pictures on the grounds (at the Milleridge Village it was so much fun and so cute!).

11 am I went up into the bridal suite. People started coming at 11:30 and they had coffee and mini muffins for our guests. Our ceremony was at 12 noon and was about 20-25 minutes. CH started at 12:30 and we were all done at 5:30.

The limo party bus took our guests back to the hotel -- some went into manhattan to enjoy the rest of their weekend. We went back to the hotel and hung out with our friends and family and were well rested for brunch the next morning! Then Sunday afternoon, we left on our HM.

I wouldn't have had it any other way.

You have to do what works for you and what you'll enjoy!!!

I am having a day wedding also! I think it definitely saves a lot and we get to have awesome day pics! Plus my wedding is on a Sunday, so no one will have to complain about having work the next day because the reception ends at 5:30pm

we are doing a daytime Sunday b/c the place is so pretty and it would lose something at night...but people complain either way. I am sure people will complain that it's on a Sunday even though we are ending it by 7:30 pm for everyone.

We are doing an afternoon wedding because of the savings, but mostly because Majestic Gardens has beautiful scenery and we wanted to get the most out of it! I always wanted an evening wedding, but when we decided to book there, I completely changed my mind.

Having an afternoon wedding at the hall that you wanted to book at will save you tremendous money like: prices decreases per plate for each guests, extra stuff that reception hall will throw in, guests can come home early and rest and you can definitely have some nice pics during an afternoon wedding vs. night wedding

Minus of having an afteroon wedding: Waking up early to get ready. Not so much drinking & partying from your guests like a night wedding.

The only negative was having to wake up really early...around 4AM for everyone to get H&M done... I liked the day wedding since my venue was on the water and you are able to see the views during the day and I wanted our ceremony outside as well. We also got to have an after party at a bowling alley so we got 2 parties. I also am not a night owl and usually in bed before midnight so that worked out for us. It was also cheaper too. Some guests said that they didnt drink as much because it was in the day but everyone still had a fun time.

I went with an afternoon wedding as well. I really wanted a june wedding and this is how i was able to afford one. the price difference between day and night was like, $40pp!! it doesn't matter what time of day you celebrate, all of your family and close friends will be there to celebrate with you. a few hours difference wasn't worth the cost to me, and i'm looking forward to having my cocktail hour in the garden! (lets hope for good weather!)

we're doing a twilight wedding. so 3-8:30. its perfect because you get your daytime ceremony and photos and when everyone leaves its dark out. and you save ALOT of money!
