My FH wants to have an age cut off at the wedding. He thinks anyone under the age of 13 should not be invited, I think this is so wrong. Is anyone else having a cut off age.

Re: Age cut off for wedding guest
No one under 18 at my wedding . . . just my preference... but it was an easy decision for us to make since all cousins, etc. are well over 18. . . and we have no nieces or nephews... except for 2 infants and that's jsut not practical.
I do think that young children should not be at a reception... it's too expensive! Plus, I would think their parents would appreciate a night out without having to worry about their kids....
Good luck though... it's hard to exclude people, but it could turn into if you invite one kid you have to invite them all and it sounds like you definitely don't want that. have them at the ceremony and maybe make them feel special by taking a special photo with them or something. . . .

Re: Age cut off for wedding guest
i would like an age cut-off but some of our guests are coming from out of the country with infants so we cant ask them to leave them home. im have 2 fg 6 &4 so there brothers will be there as well 8,7,6. so yeah there will be some kids there, but most of our cousins are over 15

Re: Age cut off for wedding guest
I can tell you where the caterer gets off making you pay full price for the kids unless you hit the 50 marker is unbelieveable...
Flower Girl Age 7 Jr Bride Age 3 Jr Groom Age 4 Junior Bridesmaid age 10 1st ringbearer age 7 Second ring bearer age 8 junior usher age 13
then 2 more kids my cousins kids age 6 & 4
He told me if I hit the 50 marker it is Buy 1 Get 1 I was like what about the babies 3 & 4's

Do you think age 7 is too old for my nephew to be a ring-bearer? My niece (his sister) is 11 and will be a junior bridesmaid, and he wants to be included in the wedding. He's too young to be a junior usher/groomsman, but I think he might be too old to be the ringbearer. Any thoughts?

My son was ringbearer at his godmother's wedding when he was 7. It's a perfect age!

My ringbearer is 10 and I think it's fine.

I didn't invite any kids unless they were my nieces and nephews and/or first cousins....immediate family only!

We aren't inviting anyone who is not out of high school... I guess that would be about 18. We don't want any kids at our wedding. And honestly, we don't have any room on our list. It is already too long.

I think it's a personal decision and you have to decide on the feel of your wedding and for some, the budget. We are welcoming kids b/c they are cute and will likely put on quite a show on the ol' dance floor!!
