Agrument about shower

i have been having problems with my sister throughout my whole engagment. do you believe she is mad at me because i haven't been helping her with MY shower. i gave her the list of names & addresses. what more does she want? last time i checked the bride is not involved in planning the shower. i woould love not be involved in one thing.. one decision related to my wedding.

i swear i have not been a demanding bride at all . i have been soooo accomodating. i purposely didn't have a BP so she can have whatever dress she wants. No drama with the other girls.

should i be helping more?? she tells me how my FMIL didn't return her call from New Years. she didn't even say why she was calling & FMIL has been working alot.

am i nutz

That is definitely the ONE detail that we should not have to stres over or plan ourselves.

Sorry your sister is stressing you out. Hope it all ends well. You definitely are not nutz though.

thanks.. too late for that. she had a very bad temper. unfortunately, i don't have the energy to talk to her about this. i have so much on my mind .. not all wedding related. after the wedding, i really feel like getting it ALL out of my system & telling her how i feel.

maybe send her a site that has all these details...what happens at a shower, etiquette and all that stuff, and the fact that its a surprise

So not fair!! Your shower should be something that's planned FOR you, not BY you. I'm sorry your sis is being like this. Maybe since you don't have other BM's she feels a little overwhelmed with it? Is there anyone else helping out?

its going to be a really small shower. both my Mom & FMIL are helping. tomorrow is the first time they are looking at ANY place. i think she was hoping my FMIL would help out more. unfortunately, she is having some health problems and won't be able to help as much. so of course she is panciking.

well i told her i don't want to be involved. she said she won't be bothering me.. lets see .. i just couldn't believe the attitude.

Re: Agrument about shower

I can completely relate. I told MY sister I didn't want a shower. I knew it was going to be a production for her.... money, stress, and all my friends won't be there (they are out of state). So what's the point right.? She told me that she doesn't care what I want, and she's just doing it.

You think our sister's are twins?

And no you are not nuts, Just think it will be over soon. I personally did a bad thing the other day. I checked her calender and found out my bridal shower date. People want to know when my shower is so they can plan to be there... Uhh, not my deal, but I am a super sleuth Does that make me a bad person?

And we are called Bridezilla's why? Because they make us CRAZY. Can I get an Amen?

it sounds like your sister is just really nervous about organizing it...i agree that she shouldn't be giving you attitude, but it sounds like she's frustrated and doesn't have something like LIW to vent on or get ideas from...maybe she should join us!

Meanwhile, my SIL is organizing my shower, and since she wasn't involved in hers, she's taking it very seriously and won't let me even bring up the topic other than to give her names/addresses!!
