The dresses that look good on me are in the 4000-6500 range. This is soo frusturating, I can't seem to find a beautiful mermaid dress for less :(

I thought I had problems when all the gowns i liked were $1200-$2000
there has GOT to be cheaper gowns that look amazing on you. Also, there are tons of places who can get the gowns cheaper. FM if you'd like some of the websites that i trust.

Yeah, I tried 2 maggie dresses...they were pretty, but I didn't have that ...'oh my god this is the one' feeling. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

i totally feel you....it dosnt help me that i have really expensive taste. i wouldnt even let myself try things on though, if i knew they were out of my price range, b/c i knew i would get upset

my best friend got married last year and bought a beautiful mermaid gown from houseofbrides.com... they are located in chicago, BUT maybe you can investigate their web site and then find the designer out here somewhere.... I know her dress was under $1500..... and it was designer...

i didnt try any on in that price range because i was afraid i'd fall in love with one and i was not going to spend that much

my first time dress shopping i cried bc all the dresses i liked were over $5K!

try a trunk show or sample sale, trunk show is 15% off so don't know how much that will help...sample sale i never been to one so not exactly sure but a couple girls on here have and they seem to have gotten a great deal

I'll be honest I ended up spending about $400 more on a gown than I thought I would.. mine is running me (without all the extras- veil, tiara, slip, blusher) $1,080.00- I thought I'd be so concervative and only spend no more than $700.00- but I said in essence to myself that I am only getting married once so gotta live a little as long as it doesn't send me to the poorhouse.

the first dress i wanted was 4,690.00 i loved it. but i found another one i loved w/ lots of detail i paid 1350.00 for it my limit for a gown was 1550.00 and my price includes alterations a blue heart sewn in side w/ are initials and free ironing and steaming and delivery. so i'm very happy w/ it.
