Aisle Runner Needed At All?

I have to ask - is it necessary to have one? Do some CH's supply one? I don't understand the to-do with them....but i am weddingly challenged in some respects so don't mind my ignorance please!!!!

My limo supplied. We didn't NEED one, but, it looked nice.

We are skipping it - we are getting married in a garden, and I am clumbsy enough as it is, so add a piece of fabric on top of uneven ground and I be on my butt for sure!

It isn't absolutely necessary but it does more than just look nice. Since your train will be dragging on the ground the aisle runner is intended to keep it from getting too dirty.

That makes sense - but i'm getting married indoors at the chapel at my RH....so the only time i'll be outside is when i'm getting out of the limo I guess...

Thanks for the info ladies, as always!!!

I'm not having one either since I am getting married at the RH, but I have to ask-what do you do with it after the wedding??

We are getting married on Halloween so I thought it would be cute to get an orange one and have a pumpkin painted on it with our names and date... I went to a web site (we are not using limos and I know the limo companies usually supply it) and a custom made one was like $350. So I think I am going to put real pumpkins down the side of the aisle and then some leaves down the center.

I am not paying that much for something is used once and gets walked on.

I really like your idea...it's very cute! You can use the pumpkins & if anyone you know is artistic - maybe they can carve in your initials and after the ceremony - they can be used as centerpieces!!!
