Is anyone making their own? I am tossing it up if I want to since I feel it will make a great personal touch, but just don't know...

I would love to make my own, but don't know how or where to start!

Re: aisle runners
I actually was going to get one made and then decided not to.
I got one at Party City for $24 and I am just going to have the florist line the sides with rose petals.

Re: aisle runners
If you're getting married in a church or temple, check with them first to make sure that they allow it - my church doesn't allow runners.

Re: aisle runners
My church def allows, my limo company has one if I need but I really wanted to make a statement. Most of my wedding are based on personal statements so I figured it would be a nice place to start =).

There are two ways that I've been told from other brides. One would be to get a runner that is transparent or light enough to see through. You make a design and blow it up and then trace it onto the runner and paint in the lines. OR you make a design and then go to staples or officemax and have it made on that transparent film for projectors. If you can get a projector then you would just then put it on the wall and trace that way... OR you can order them through a vendor already done. DIY is way cheaper.

Re: aisle runners
I have been toying with this myself! FH says do whatever I want and my roomate/moh says no way. We are not able to do that. But they say that to everything. They think we are made of money

Re: aisle runners
My limo company supplies it for a $50 charge!! I found it for $25 so I will attempt to put a design on it. If I fail miserably and have to buy another one, oh well, I still only spent $50.

Re: aisle runners
I would love one....the calligrapher I am using makes them. But, my church won't allow us to have one. The floors are like marble or something and I guess they have caused people to fall in the past....I would rather not risk that anyway!

Re: aisle runners
I bought one through Oriental Trading for $25 and my Uncle is putting our names and date on it, he's pretty artsy.
Gotta take advantage of everyone's skills!

Re: aisle runners
My florist provides one for me. I really like the personalized ones but I don't know if I want to spend on that.

Re: aisle runners
Please keep in mind that if it is a HARD WOOD FLOOR, you must have a rubber backed/slip proof aisle runner so that you and other people don't slip and fall.
If its a carpeted surface....no worries. I think its a nice touch, but not necessary.

Re: aisle runners
I am putting my monogram on mine. I had mo monogram blown up 2feet by 2feet and am going to trace it on (the runner is ver sheer) and then paint it in-wish me luck!

same here- i got my runner for $30 from Marilyn's keepsakes. Those personlized runners can cost over $150... i found something better to do with that money

Re: aisle runners
We wanted to have one really bad, but then found out that it wasn't allowed in our church.
