Is there a certain type of aisle runner (fabric) that I need to get if I want to try and write stuff on it?

Re: aisle runners...
Hmm I am not sure on this but I would stay away from sheer thin fabrics. I would stick with something sturdier like linen and be sure to use a good quality fabric marker.
Another idea is to create whatever monogram or design you like on the computer or have someone do it for you, then print it out on that special Iron-on transfer paper. It will make it look MUCH neater if you want it all to be perfectly symmetrical etc and is MUCH less likely to bleed than a marker.
You can get the paper at Staples or any similar supply store.

A fine weaved canvas or felt would work so that whatever you use to write with doesn't bleed.

Thats a great idea, however how would you get it big enough on a regular printer? I would want it to look significant on the aisle runner and I only have a reg. sized printer! Any ideas? TIA

Yep. Kinkos is great for stuff like that. They might eve be able to do the transparency for you if you have the layout on a disk or memory stick.
