I did. I got a fairly good price because I am in the industry - but truth be told its really not something I would skimp on.
There is a monthly fee to be hooked up to the central station monitoring.

in ct by me, there is a company called standard securities. they install x thousand dollars of equipment and its $29.99 a month or something

You can get it installed free - but it is very basic. THe company makes the money on the monitoring since you will have to sign a long term contract with them for that in order to get the free alarm.

You can have the basic system installed for free. This includes the doors and a monitoring system inside. What it doesn't include is all the windows. You don't NEED this, but you may WANT it. We had someone come out and give us a free consultation.
There is a monthly cost to connect to the central monitoring system. Plus it is extra if you want the connect the emergency police and fire buttons.

That was why I was curious. They don't tell you want you are getting until the show. But I have my guesses.

I have ADT. We got free installation, but I paid a little bit for the wireless setup, the extra smoke detectors and the Radon detector. I think the monitoring is $28.00 a month.
